These last couple years have been extremely difficult with the uncertainty of the pandemic. December is the month of reflection and hope for the upcoming year.
The year 2021 has been a whirlwind with so many twists and turns. I started the year struggling with my health and revising my dissertation in Santa Barbara. Serendipitously I managed to submit my dissertation manuscript and file for graduation two weeks before moving to Los Angeles to rejoin my family.
While applying for positions, I continued tinkering with digital literacies and began freelancing full-time. Then I accepted my current management position at an education non-profit organization in San Jose. The relocation to the Bay Area and adapting to a new cultural ecosystem could be difficult, but I am proud to make San Jose my home.
During the holiday season, I am also reminded to appreciate the simple joys in life such as being at home with family and having the dog fast asleep under my arm. In spite of the hardships and the difficulties we grapple with, the clouds always have silver linings.
This season is the season of giving and I look forward to sharing more of my favorite healthy recipes, wellness hacks, travel adventures, and foodie finds. The future is still bright and the possibilities are endless.
Wishing everybody safe and happy holidays!
